The Future of Lawn Care Programs
By John Bannon
People will start to hear more about hybird lawn care programs as more state regulations about the use and misuse of pesticides appear. We have introduced a hybrid program that uses organic crossover fertilizers, soil amendments, limited use of weed and crabgrass control, and organic insect controls. We use weed control as a spot treatment to limit exposure to our technicians and customers. Most disease activity can be brought under control by proper cultural methods.
People are interested in any and all things green. We think that people will tolerate some weeds and crabgrass if they know that there lawn is being treated in a safe manner. Pesticide heavy treatments are no longer popular and totally organic and pest-free lawns look like they haven't been treated at all. Therefore, we think that a hybrid program is the best option. It makes your lawn look green and healthy - and without too many weeds. Coastal Care has decided to offer this service to anyone who wants to have a nice looking lawn that is safe for children, pets, and adults.
In order for a hybrid program to be sustainable, customers must follow the care instructions to a tee. Watering and mowing, as well as removing grass clippings when diseases are active, is a must. Not all lawns qualify for a hybrid program; however, most well-kept lawns do very well on this type of program. Thin or bare lawns will not respond well to this type of program. The best thing to do in that case is to renovate the lawn to improve the lawn's density. Once the lawn is revitalized, you can start the program. Hybird programs are the best of both worlds when it comes to lawn care programs.
