How to Keep Your Lawn Green

Tips for a Healthy, Green Lawn
Watch the video above to learn some helpful tips for maintaining a healthy green lawn, even in the middle of a hot summer.
1. Make sure your lawn mower has sharp blades. Dull blades will do much more harm than good.
2. Don't mow your lawn too short. Taller grass is typically healthy grass. Mowing your lawn too short may cause root damage.
3. Don't over-fertilize your lawn. Make sure to apply fertilizer in a thin, even layer to avoid killing a patch of your grass.
4. It's best to water your lawn in the morning so it has plenty of time to dry out before sundown.
5. Don't be afraid to leave grass clippings on your lawn. They can provide beneficial nutrients to the soil.
6. If your lawn is covered with leaves, rake or blow them away. Your lawn will not be able to get the sunlight and oxygen it needs to survive if it is covered with a thick layer of leaves.
